Jacquard iDye Fixative 14gm
iDye Fixative is a cationic resin used as a post treatment for dyed fabrics. Use with natural fibers only (cottons, linens, rayon, hemp, etc., and silk and animal fibers). iDye Fixative increases wash fastness, stops bleeding, and helps prevent back staining.
iDye Fixative can also be used with other negatively charged dyes such as Procion MX, Concentrated Vinyl Sulphon, Remazol dyes, and commercially dyed fabrics that may bleed.
- Easy-to-use
- iDye Fixative can be used on most 100% natural fabrics (silk, cotton, linen, rayon).
Not for synthetic fabrics. One 3 fl oz/88 ml jar treats 9-18 lbs/4-8 kg of fabric. One 0.49 fl oz/14 g packet (approximately 1 tablespoon) treats up to 3 lb/1.4 kg of fabric
FOR BEST RESULTS: Prewash garment to remove any sizings, softeners or finishes. While iDye Fixative will aid in wash-fastness, it is recommended to launder dyed fabrics in cold water with like colours.
NOTE: Utensils and pot used for this process should not be used for food.
FIVE SIMPLE STEPS FOR GREAT RESULTS (Washing Machine Method):
- Dye garments with iDye according to iDye instructions.
- Rinse excess dye out of garment with additional wash cycle, in cold water.
- Fill washing machine with just enough warm water for the fabric to move freely.
- Introduce 1-2 tablespoons of iDye Fixative per 3 lb/1.4 kg of dry weight fabric, agitate to mix, then add damp fabric.
- Run the garment through wash cycle.
AN ALTERNATE METHOD:
- Dye garments with iDye according to iDye instructions.
- Rinse excess dye out of garment with additional wash cycle, in cold water.
- Fill bucket or tub with enough warm water to cover fabric.
- Introduce 1-2 tablespoons of iDye Fixative per 3 lb/1.4 kg of dry weight fabric, agitate to mix, then add damp fabric.
- Soak for at least 15 minutes. Agitate frequently to ensure even absorption of iDye Fixative.
- Rinse garment.
