Matisse Drying Retarder MM1 will slow the evaporation of water from acrylic paint. However, excess amounts of Retarder (over 10%) will severely slow the curing of the acrylic. Therefore, even though appearing dry it will not have cured and thus is able to be re-wet, i.e. with a wet brush or cloth. This allows the Matisse acrylic colours to be used just like watercolours.
